WEARING THE NEW HEARING AID IS …ANNOYING.  IT MAY HELP ME HEAR BETTER, BUT IT HAS SOME COMCOMIITANT  DRAWBACKS:..IT’S NOT TOO COMFORTABLE; ALSO, WHEN I SCRUNCH MY FACE, IT CAN AFFECT THE MUSCLES NEAR MY EAR AND THAT EFFECTIVELY CUTS OFF THE SOUND ENTERING MY EAR, FOR SOME REASON. SAME WITH AGGRESSIVE CHEWING.

AS OF TODAY, THE JURY IS OUT, AS I AM DELIBERATING THE UTILITY OF THE HEARING AID. MINE IS A BEHIND THE EAR TYPE WHICH IS ANNOYING (REQUIRES KEEPING TRACK OF, OCCASIONALLY IT DROPS OFF THE EAR, OR GETS MISPLACED BY THE DOPE WEARING IT).  WHEN IT FALLS OUT, WHICH IS NOT SO BAD AT MY DESK, BUT VERY BAD IN THE STREET. AT ONE THOUSAND EUROS PER, I CAN’T AFFORD THAT TO HAPPEN OFTEN. THAT WOULD BE A SIGNIFICANT DRAWBACK.  ALSO, THE KICK-BOXING LESSONS WILL HAVE TO BE PUT ON HOLD.

I GET NO FEEDBACK WHICH, (I HEAR) CAN BE A PROBLEM WITH HEARING AIDS.  SQUELCH,SQUELCH!

I CANNOT COMPLAIN TROPO…IT’S A SUNNY DAY IN DUBLIN AND LAST NIGHT WE HEARD A TERRIFIC LECTURE AT THE NATIONAL LIBRARY IN DUBLIN ON THE CELTIC REVIVAL  OF  THE LATE 19TH CENTURY IN IRELAND.  THE LECTURER WAS NICOLA GORDON BOWE OF THE NATIONAL COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN. I HEARD EVERY WORD.  //www.123people.com/s/nicola+gordon+bowe

A JOY IN LIING IN DUBLIN, LIKE IN OUR EARLIER RESIDENCES IN VENICE AND IN CAMBRIDGE, IS THAT IT DUBLIN IS A UNIVERSITY CITY (IT HAS TWO UNIVERSITIES) AND, AS SUCH, THERE IS GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS.
