The Answer was blowing in the wind…


Yes, at the annual Dublin Handel Messiah sing-along on Fishamble Street (site of the original performance (1742). It was blowing like crazy – typical Dublin spring day. But who cared? A thousand like-minded Handelians assembled to smooze and sing, along with the professional choir and musicians. 

What was really nice that I saw no hawkers selling Handel wigs, CD’s, T-shirts, mugs, etc, etc. It was just music and the occasional gust of cold spring Irish wind.  And no one came dressed as Handel, alas.
